Early Years
Ann Gilbert was born on March 11th, 1941, in Gustine, California, a small farming town about two hours southeast of San Francisco.
Her father, Gordon Gilbert, was a wheat farmer, while her mother, Wilma (née Polkinghorn), came from a ranching family. Ann was raised with her siblings on the family farm, where life meant early mornings, chores, and outdoor freedom.
